No one can deny that we human have an instinct of fighting and killing. But in the real world such actions are restricted by morality. Though violent act is immoral but sometime can give us a pleasure. So, by an infinite imagination of man, some computer programmers have created virtual reality world – a world of electronic game. Electronic games are new breed of media - a media that have interaction with consumers. In the world of electronic games, player can be an
yone that they dream to be – an elite soldier combating villains, a general commanding an army of the world or an adventurer seeking for revenge in a fantasy world. But for someone who immerses themselves in this world, is it possible that the basic instinct will be stimulated… and lead to aggressiveness.
---On 2 February 2006, a so called Neo-Nazi “Jacob Robida” attacked patrons in a gay bar with hatchet and 9mm pistol and murdered a police officer during his escape. John Bruce “Jack” Thompson, an American attorney who fights against violent and obscenity in entertainment industry claimed that his cri
me was motivated by a violent video game called “Grand Theft Auto – vice city”.---Jack and Jacob

The crime was committed – Who or What is to blame? Did the video game is a source of his violent act or it is the spreading of immorality that made him be a murderer. Is it possible that he was an ordinary man who had been motivated by violent in the game? Or he was already made criminal before he loved to play the game?
This is only one of the cases that was claimed to be motivated by video games.
The most important thing in this moment is to identify the true source of growing aggressiveness in some computer game players. To find out if the violent in virtual world really motivated people to commit a violent act in real world. Or the lack of discipline and conscience that let the player be consumed by the virtual world.
What do you think?

Our world is dramatically changing and will never come back to normality any more. Humans’ defilements have long been motivated by various kinds of things, be they video games, movies or even newspapers, and the defilements never fail to fill humans’ mind with anguish. No one pays full attention to the causes of crimes happening in our society. Teenagers who are regarded as the future of the nation are obsessed with games. They cannot distinguish right from wrong. What they see, play will more or less have some effect on their mind and behaviors. We don’t know whether what we see, do, touch will be good for us or not. It is thus an obligation for us to keep in mind that we were born to do and to be good. To put it bluntly, we must ask ourselves that if what we are doing is beneficial for us and the public.

I think all media have influence on children's behaviors, such as movie, newspaper, comic book, TV program and especially video game.
From my experience,I found that nowsday the children take many hours per day to play the video games. Some are eager and seem like they addict to play if they have free time.
Most of popular video games are violent which are about fighting and killing. With it, the children seem to be more aggressive.
I think all the parents should give suggestions to their children, concern about all games that they play and limit the time for playing.

Human beings actually have basic instinct of fighting and aggressiveness. Video and on-line games can be one of the factors that motivate those game players to be (more) aggressive. But I don't think the games will be the only main cause that makes them aggressive.
However, there are other key factors that can make them aggressive without playing the games; e.g. the background of their families or the environment around them. People who live on the outskirts can be aggressive, though they never play the games.
So I think game players aren't aggressive because of the games only but there are many causes that can make them aggressive.

For me, I want to mention to the Internet, the online service which is a kind of media, it provides many types of on-line game that motivated children to addictive behavior.
Like in the case of my brother, he is just 8 years-old, he usually spent long hours time on-line to play on-line game on the weekends. He likes to play fighting game. He pay his full attention to play game as if he were in that fighting, sometimes he acts like he is a killer in that game. I always notice that after game his emotion became more aggressive especially when he was a loser.
I think this on-line game affected the emotional response of children. They can imitate behavior and absorb many things in the game.
So, I think the media influences children so much. Including the other medias such as TV, movies or cartoon books, children’s activities attach to these medias especially in their free time.
