Have you ever felt like some news is being reported too much? Have you ever felt like you have heard or read this news five or ten times already? Have you ever felt like you don’t want to hear or see it anymore but it still exist? I have experienced all this feeling recently when the “Jatukarm-Ramathep” amulet began to produce and when Pharadorn engaged to Natalie.
These are the cases of “Information Bombardment” in Thailand. In Jatukarm case, we have heard news about every event involve with the Amulet from every channel of media in Thailand. And some of that event, I think, was so insignificant. For example, a man ‘wears Jatukarm amulet’ was shot and wounded by unknown gunman. This was reported in the front page of a local newspaper. If he didn’t wear the amulet, will this news be printed on the front page? The other case is Par
adon and Natalie. The news of their engagement has been reported over and over again in every channel in Thailand. At the day this information was used to bombard peoples of Thailand, we heard and saw their names everywhere. What is so significant about their engagement? Yes, both of them are famous but why media reported this news as if this is a global issue. What were these repetition means? Does media tried to tell us that these are the most significant events ever happened in Thailand? My fear is that when we have experience something frequently, intentionally or not, that thing might imprinted in our head subconsciously and become more importance in our perception.

I don’t think not only have newspaper readers and TV viewers been affected by these kinds of news but also news reporters themselves. I feel that Thai news reporters are not professionals. They are just amateurs. The true purpose of news is to represent fact, but most of them present what is going on. They make news, not report news. It can easily be seen that on occasions we will see the repetition of the same news. According to the cooperative principle, most Thai news reporters have long violated the quality ( to tell the truth) principle. They have not told us about the real situations and they even inject their own interest and opinion into the news. You may not know that, in actual fact, 70% of Thai channels have been full of entertainment section and 30 % news. How embarrassed Thai channels are!
This post reminds me of Mr. Suthichai Yoon, the founder of the Nation and the ex-executive of iTV channel. He once said that the ideal reporters must report what they have seen as accurately and informatively as possible.
To my mind, the best news is the one that is not intervened and undermined by any tycoons, ill-will politicians and green news reporters!

I do really agree with Aram. Sometimes, all media present news more than they suppose to be.
They concern only people's interesting, not the useful things. It is quite so boring and nonsense to read the same news everyday e.g. Jathukam's news,Paradon's news.
It is not good for the readers and audiences. They should receive the knowledge, the useful information and all the evenths which happen in the world morethan getting stuck with those kinds of news. All the media should concern more about the way and the materails with they present.

The more these two pieces of news are emphasized, the more important they are; people have to give more importance to them. People might not think that the two items of news are significant. Because of the media, they presented these two items of news several times to make people pay more attention. The most obvious is about the amulet; Jatukarm-Ramathep. The more this news is presented, the blinder people are.
I think the media should be more responsible for what they present. They should take more care and try to explain to people; to have more consideration on the news. And the media consumers should be careful the media producers report the news. "Language is not a mirror but a frame"

Because of their popularity, these two news were persented many times. The medias just want to sell their news, they usually presented the hot issues(talk of the town)in that time. Like these two news, people are interested in them so much, all medias tried to emphasize and attract people by presenting these news many times(may be over times)But sometimes we might feel bored and thought that the medias presented their news over the real. Especially, like the news of the amulet "Jatukarm-Ramathep" which concern with the miracle, Thai people easily believed in its miracle (Thai people always believed in nonsensical things)because the medias used the ways which can powerfully emphasize the miracle of this amulet to present their news and presented it many times until people complied with this news.
I don't want to blame the medias because I understand that repeating news many times is a way to success in presenting their news. People themselve should be careful in getting information.
